We want to show you how easy the DME solution is to use on a mobile phone or PDA by guiding you through two common tasks:
Creating an e-mail and
Creating a meeting invitation.
The demos are recorded using the DME client for Pocket PC running Windows Mobile, but the steps are the same on any
supported device – whether it runs Symbian, UIQ, or Java.
|
Create an e-mail
- Click the Options button to start the demo.
- The demo takes over, and creates an e-mail.
- The demo then shows two buttons to let you choose to either:
- Show how to search the Global Address Book on the corporate mail system (items 4-6 below), and then continue with the e-mail.
- Go directly to writing the e-mail, simulating that you enter the recipient’s e-mail address directly (go directly to item 7 below).
- In the demo, the imaginary user clicks the To: field, and is given the option to search locally (in the local contacts, which corresponds to your private address book on the corporate mail system), or in the global address book.
- Global Address Book is chosen.
- The demo then shows how the user enters part of a name, and clicks Search. The user selects a search result, and clicks OK to enter the found e-mail address in the To: field.
- With the e-mail address in place, the demo completes the Subject and Body fields and Sends.
- That’s it – simple as that!

Create a meeting invitation
- Click the Options button to start the demo.
- The demo takes over, and creates a new meeting invitation.
- The on-screen messages tell you what the demo does:
- Enter subject
- Pick a date and time
- Set the alarm
- Enter a description
- Select 2 participants – add one of them to the local contact book
- Check that they are both available
- See that you can also book rooms and resources (the demo does not actually do it)
- Send the meeting invitation
- That’s it – as simple as in Outlook or Lotus Notes on your desktop PC!
