Complete control over all mobile phones and PDAs
The compact size that makes mobile phones and PDAs so attractive also makes them susceptible to theft, loss and intrusion. The security risks implicit in having confidential data on small, mobile devices make it necessary to protect every link in the communications chain with the world’s best safety measures. It also makes it necessary to ensure complete control of mobile phone behavior.
DME includes all the necessary security measures you need to protect your mobile phones and PDAs plus over-the-air encryption and authentication of users. In other words, you do not need additional applications that can be cumbersome to integrate and make your IT architecture more complex.
DME features:
- Consistently high security enforcement across device platforms
- End-to-end encryption, also on the phone
- Blocking of applications and disabling of actions considered unsafe
- Full or partial shell protection
- Remote wipe of all data and settings, if phone or PDA is lost or stolen
- Optional data wipe on SIM card replacement or if maximum login attempts are exceeded
- No use of relay server/NOC
- S/MIME e-mail encryption
- Certificate-based authentication
- Control of attachment distribution and usage
- Automatic log-out after the period of inactivity
All features can be controlled by the DME administrator, enabling you to tailor security according to your corporate security policies. And most importantly, DME gives you the same high security controls no matter which mobile operating system you are using – Symbian, UIQ, Windows Mobile or Java.
Many devices – one boss
Mobile device management is an integral component of DME. With DME, you will have a complete overview of all your devices for easy administration. You can track phone models, DME versions, mobile operating system versions, programs installed, and you can centrally control settings and enable/disable applications and features. Users can only make changes to the extent central administrators permit it.
DME allows you to:
- Change settings for groups or individuals
- Have central control of users’ ability to change DME settings.
- Have central control of users’ access to applications and networks connections (Bluetooth, cable…) on the device.
